Christmas Fun :)

Tuesday 30th November my beautiful mother, best friend & i went along to the Leeds Harvey Nichols in-store christmas event. Tickets were £10 each and this was redeemable against any item on the Beauty & Accessories floor.

Due to the amazing british weather i didn't think id be able to make it if the snow was too bad but thankfully it held of and we made it there in one piece. As id never been to anything like this before i didn't quite know what to expect but in all honesty it wasn't as amazing as id initially thought.

There were a variety of make up/fashion demonstrations and prize giveaways, the individual counters were either doing make overs or special offers on products (there was a leaflet with all that info on but ive misplaced mine)

I Decided to ask to try the bareMinerals foundation as ive heard good thing about their products but never tried any...the foundation gave greaaat coverage and was contemplating buying a starter pack but then my skin started to feel really tight and dry which instantly put me off...thankfully my mum brought baby wipes along (i love how mums manage to carry pretty much EVERYTHING with them)

I then went on to get a complimentary make over from YSL and fell in love with there new Conplexion Palette it is easily one of the most beautiful highlights i have ever seen with a nice price tag to go with it!!

When it came to leave everyone received a goody bag with a variety of perfumes/aftershaves, moisuriser, a foundation sample, and bath milk ..i was particularly thrilled by the sample of Marc Jacobs BANG which is just the sexiest aftershave ever and yes i wear it myself lol
The part i struggled with the most what what to use my £10 ticket on as i was in that slightly spoilt for choice/didnt really NEED anything dilema so i settled for a Nars Duo eyeshadow as its something iv fancied for a while but the price put me off...over much deliberation i chose Kuala Lumpur... a sort of peachy golden colour & a plum, i swatched the colours but found it hard to capture the true beauty of the colours so a look with soon follow.

Festive Cranberry

On with My 3rd Sleek look now heres one from the brand new Sparkle palette all honesty i am a sucker for bright in your face colours so these were the two that jumped out at me the most :)

Although the eyeshadows in the palette do appear to come packed with alot of glitter i found that most of it just ends up as fallout, although there is a sparkle as is what its intended to do i guess i just thought it would have more of an impact than it did.

Eyes... UDPP in Sin, Sleek Sparkle Palette Cranberry, Festive & Noir, MUA shade1, UD liquid eyeliner in Perversion, UD 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero, Avon SuperShock Mascara.

Shades Of Green.

I have been Slack.
Far too slack....Mainly due to loosing my memory card for my camera...oh and a great lack of inspiration once again and it is so VERY frustrating but im getting back into the swing of things and determined to get this blog up and running for good.

Recently a good friend of mine inspired me to do something Green as its a colour i never wear and heres what i came up with
(apologies for the lack of pictures)
Products used... UDPP in Sin, Sleek Safari Palette, UD liner in Perversion,   Benefit Bad gal Mascara.

Sleek...Sleek and........More Sleek?

Its safe to say i have an addiction so Sleek e/s palettes and was incredibly excited when i was in my local superdrug on friday and spotted there new Sparkle palette which i shamefully knew NOTHING about but had to have it for collection purposes.

Once again Sleek have delivered a Beautiful selection of highly pigmented eyeshadows, some with added glitter, a few come without and there is one matte e/s which is Noir and has popped up across a few past palettes. A couple of the colours do look similar to some in the recent 'Bad Girl' Palette but the added glitter does give them that extra pop.
In all honesty... since experiencing the annoyance of fallout glitter from urban decay i normally avoid glittery eyeshadows so im yet to decide on wether i like this or not as i have not yet created any looks with it so watch this space.

Shadows from left to right.... Cranberry, Dream Maker, Galactic, Twinkle, Star Light, Noir
Illusion, Festive, Mistletoe, Glitz & Glamour, Gold Ribbon, Tinsel.
Above are swatches over a VERY light coverage of foundation without primer.
Just because i am so dam proud of this and ive not done it before heres my whole collection of sleek palettes. :)

i am aware that some are not in the best condition and some shadows havent even been used (i will get round to it)

correct me if i am wrong but as far as i am aware i am only missing two of them 'Chaos' which i originally refused to buy because i found them all very chalky and 'jewels' which i have been trying to find online but have had no luck with!

Argh :(

Serious case of Blog neglect yet again!! very bad of me i know.
Over this poor excuse of a summer that weve had ive worn very little make up ..ive also had no brush cleaner for AGES so refused to do any looks but now im back in action.

Ive also decided to start doing product reviews/swatches and inform of any amazing little bargins ot treats i happen to come across ...which brings me onto my next subject

The Models Own eye shading brush.

I happened to notice my local boots had re-arranged and adopted a few new self serve make up displays so i thought id have a often very wary of investing in make up i know very little about as im on a limited budget i hate products that are a waste.

As came across the Models Own section i happened to be on the phone to my best friend and mentioned they sell brushed which she said shes read are very good....i purchased the eye shading brush for £5 (which is £3 online!!) and boyyy am i in LOVE!!!

The bristles are incredibly soft and so far ive had no shedding/malting of hairs which is always a plus, i like how the handle is a good size as i can get a good grip on it, i also love how when im doing one colour or neutral looks i only have to use that one brush!!

I think its a MUST have for every kit or anybody looking to build up a nice set of brushes :)

Im not a neon person at all and as the only neon eyeshadows i have are in the sleek acid palette and as they are very chalky colours i tend to avoid using it. ... i doubt id ever wear this look anywhere at all but i was looking through some of my older make up pictures on facebook the other day and knowing i can do better now than what i did then i decided i would re-create some of my older looks... as i dont have the original photo i cant do a before and after.

Products used...
  • Sleek Acid palette
  • UD PP in sin (only because my normal PP has caked up and gone hard!!)
  • Mac fluidline in blacktrack
  • Benefit Badgal mascara

Ive not posted on here for a a while , it got slightly neglected but hopefully the looks will continue as normal from now on
This look was originally suppost to be just nudes/peachy colours but as i didnt really like the look with a shimmer finnish i added some pinky reds & black.
The eyeliner is ALOT thicker than id normally do with an eyeshadow look but i do quite like how it turned out anyway. Hope you like!
