Blog News....

Due to me having to create a new blog as part of my uni work for the time being i am no longer using this blog as my main blog, which does make me kinda sad as its something iv'e really enjoyed working on and sharing with my readers.

I shall now be posting on my new blog Thoughts & Foundation MUA ive kept the name as similar to this blog as i possibly could as i do not want to delete this one.

The new blog will feature work im doing at uni, any work experience i do and i will also try to feature product reviews as well like what i already do n this blog so i hope if you are a reader now that you will follow my new blog!!  :)

Illamasqua Sophie-I Inspired Look.

I Did this look just under 2 weeks ago...I watched the video tutorial for this look on Illamasquas Youtube page which you can watch if you click HERE.

I thought it was a nice look but didn't plan on re-creating it....i then went into the Illamasqua store in leeds (So Beautiful!) and was given a small card leaflet with a step-by-step guide to creating the look and on the back it had some information on The Sophie Lancaster Foundation...... so when i got home i thought what the heck ill have a play around and see what i come up with!

I generally dont like exactly copying a look, i think its always better to add your own personal twist to it no matter how small or big it may be.
As you may be able to tell its not as nice and neat as i would of liked it but that is my own interpretation of the look...

Product list...(Yes none of it is Illamasqua, i only own 2 products and none of them are eyeshadows)

  • UD PP
  • Inika Eye liner pencil - Graphite
  • Sleek Au Naturel palette ..Ive lost the plastic sheet with the names on but i used the first 2 shadows and the black which i also used on the brow
  • Benefit magic ink liquid eyeliner
  • Mac dazzle lash mascara

This is the face chart i designed the look on, I found this face chart at www.dustinhunter.com

Sleek Make-Up Au Naturel Palette Review With Swatches

I know im probably like the last person to do a post about this palette but it honestly took me longer than planned for mw to get my hands on it as every single superdrug i went into didnt seem to have any in stock but luckily i managed to grab the last lonely one to add to this ever growing collection of sleek palettes i have....17 to be exact!! Think im set for eyeshadows for a very long time!!

What Sleek Say: Sleek MakeUP’s Nude collection wraps up your autumn beauty look in one warm, earthy and wearable collection. The Au Naturel i-Divine provides an array of matte and pearlescent eye shadows providing a subtle yet contoured effect for day, that can be built up for a smoky glamorous effect using velvety browns and shimmering fawns.

L-R... Nougat, Nubuck, Cappuccino, Honeycomb, Toast, Taupe,
Conker, Moss, Bark, Mineral Earth, Regal.

This palette contains 8 matte and 4 pearlescent shadows... I must admit i am slightly disappointed with this one as compared to other neutral eyeshadow palettes i own its nothing special and i much prefer Sleeks Storm palette to this one as i find the matte eyeshadows dont show up very well on my skin tone and they were rather chalky so i most probably wont use it much at all but i do quite like 'Taupe' and 'Conker' and 'Mineral earth' so stay put for a look coming soon!

Mac Me Over Mini Haul.

I've not purchased anything from a Mac collection for a while now....mainly because ive been trying to cut back on the amount i spend on make up and nothing has really caught my attention and made me think 'OH I NEED THAT IN MY LIFE!'
Im going through a big Burgundy/Maroon phase fight now...dont know why i jus LOVE it ...anything that colour i just have to have so when looking through what the 'Mac Me Over' collection had to offer as soon as i seen 'Dark Diversion' Fluidline i was very interested!
Since buying it ive not actually properly used it with a full look, i swatched it in store and liked it then once i got it home i swatched it for this post and tested it on myself without any primer/eyeshadow and in all honesty i cant say i was really that impressed...it kinda goes on a bit patchy and needs to be built up using very small strokes for the colour to really stand out.

I didn't plan to buy anything else but as im a big sucker for a nice lipstick i swatched a few while in store and fell in love with 'Oh, Oh, Oh' ...i've been after a deeper reddish coloured lipstick for a while but i dont think i can pull them off too well as they tend to just drain the colour from my face but this is brilliant as its not a very strong colour and the gold shimmer in it adds just a nice amount of highlight!!!

Both were priced at £13.50 which is a bit more than i've spent on such little make up in a long time but i was in the mood to treat myself!! :)

Mini Shopping Haul #2

Thought id make a quick post on a few new bits of jewellery i picked up whilst on a trip to Primark! I will always pop in once a weak or whenever to see what new inexpensive goodies they have for sale because personally i think you cant beat them for the price..so what if the quality isn't always the most amazing but for a £3 pair if earrings as long as you get a few good wears out of them you cant really complain!! I must admit some of Primarks stuff can bit a bit on the cheap & tacky side but if you have a good eye for these things you can usually find some nice things.

The suede straps & the stone which has an almost petrol kind of two toned effect on this necklace are what really caught my attention i dont own anything else like it and have yet to wear it but im sure i will do eventually :)

Now dont you just LOVE that orange...i wore these out on the weekend with peachy/cream one sleeved slightly floral dress and they looked great...Also seen about 3 other people wearing the same earings as me! You know what they say ...great minds and all that!

Im forever buying braceletes like these and sticking them all in a draw together so i can just grab a random handfull if i ever need to!! :
